Website Design involves lot of coding for many people.Also people are willing to spend lot of money to design a website.The security and reliability of such web sites designed by newbie programmers is often a problem.When hackers attack even well designed sites,What can we say about these newbie sites?
Open source content management systems offers a solution to this dilemma. That too free of cost. They can be thought of as well built frameworks,where you can put your content.The site is designed ,source code is available.you just add the content!!
There are many open source Content management systems .Drupal is the foremost among them. With Drupal, you can design a website in three or four days.
Drupal works on many platforms,but the preferred platform is LINUX ,with Apache and MySQL. Drupal comes with a core which you can install easily. Additional functionality is provided by separate code called modules.
Many commercial sites are designed using Drupal. It is easy and fast. You can go to the Drupal website for more details.
Also a large community at Drupal.org is ready to support you if you have problems using Drupal.Again security is of prime concern in many open source projects like Drupal. Security updates are provided by Drupal frequently. The current version of Drupal is 6.8. Drupal 7 is about to be released.
This content management system also allows users to post their own content.The content can be filtered by administrators.The role based access control provided by it is superb.
