Why visit munnar? And how to get there.
Why do people from europe prefer to visit munnar? There are many reasons.

First of all munnar had a very glorious history in which thhe british people planted tea estates and made munnar the teapot of India.
Now also hundreds of acers of land is cultivated with tea and it is a beautiful site to see

people of munnar have thousand stories to tell about the forigners who spent their vaccation there. Now also many old buildings tell us the stories of this lost glory. Last time whwn I went to Munnar, I met a tailor who claimed that his father was the great tailor of munnar and he only served british people.

Another blessing is the fantastic climate of munnar.Always very cool,Munnar is the perfect hill station for a summer stay.

The natural beauty of munnar is also enchanting, Filled with hills and valleys, Munnar is one of the most charming places in the world. There are lakes, where you can spend a full day boating, also there are hills filled with neelakkurinji(once in twelve years) where you would like to spend a lifetime.

How to get to munnar. it is only nearly 110 kms from cochin. You can get busses going to Kothamagalm every now and then from Cochin, and from kothamangalam it is only 80 kilometers journey.
